Shipping & Returns
Shipping Information
All deliveries will be made to the safest nearest access and, in the case of the pallet carrier, only on to hardstanding ground surface. The stone may well be in crates of up to a tonne in weight. None of the drivers are contracted to manually unload the crates, carry stone into houses, through gates or any other movement of stone other than simply unloading the crate from the vehicle. If further movement of stone is necessary on the day of delivery you must provide the personnel to do so.
Standard palletised delivery is made by an 18 tonne lorry with tail gate to kerbside (see picture below with forklift to demonstrate scale). The crate(s) is transported on a pump pallet truck from taillift to the nearest hard-standing. This will be kerbside if you have a shingle, loose gravel or other non-hard standing driveway – delivery into these areas is at the driver’s discretion as they are ultimately contracted to delivery to kerbside. The driver is not responsible for handling tiles so please ensure that you have the labour available to do so. If you can only be reached by sharp bends, narrow driveways etc. you must inform Beswick Stone when ordering, as alternative arrangements may need to be made. If the driver is unable to gain access to your property or site, then your crate(s) will be returned to the nearest depot where you will have to make other arrangements at your expense.
DAMAGES
Pallets must be inspected at point of delivery and any obvious damage recorded on the delivery note, please also inform Rock and Wood at your earliest convenience. Excessive damages or shortage must be reported to Rock and Wood within 48hours of delivery.
Returns
Due to the variation which occurs with natural stone, ceramic, porcelain, decorative & glazed materials we operate a non-return policy. It should be noted that any surplus tiles are worth keeping as they will be from the same batch as your original material and can be utilised should any damage occur after the tiles have been installed.
